I will be the first to admit, I never knew much about these watches. Occasionally I would see one come up for sale but I never used to take much notice. I knew they were cased in the same 37.5mm stainless steel case as the more famous and cultish Titus Calypsomatic, but that’s about it. After trying one on for myself, I fully regret not taking more notice.
These Skydivers are hugely underappreciated and undervalued in my opinion, as they are beautifully robust watches. Featuring a black glossy dial with huge hour markers and thick sectored hands filled with lume, it has a lot going for it. The contrasting red date wheel and the very attractive font style used for the logo and model name really makes this one of the great divers.
The stainless steel case, with a black rotating bezel, long thick lugs and that huge crown, sits so well on the wrist and while it is the same case as a Calypsomatic, I much prefer the Technos as I think the dial design is much more attractive.
Overall, this is one of my favourite divers and this example is in one of the nicer conditions I've come across.
