The Girard Perregaux Deep Diver is a seriously underrated dive watch. Incredibly rare with only an estimated 1,400 pieces produced, it is currently off the radar and presents excellent value. What struck me the most was how well constructed the stainless steel case is. Sized at 39mm, it is a solid diver with modern wearability standards and with thick bevelled lugs it has a great muscular presence on the wrist. The acrylic bezel is typically vintage in its styling and with the stainless steel beads of rice bracelet, this completes the look for what is an iconic 60’s diving watch.
This is a very nice alternative from your stereotypical vintage supercompressor divers and a case that is pretty unique. Some great designs came out of Girard Perregaux in the 20th century and it is only a matter of time before they become noticed.
