Eterna chronographs from the mid-century have been very popular lately and it is easy to see why. With many variants from dial styles to case shapes, it has caught the attention of collectors and as a result, has seen its value skyrocket recently.
While the black, gilt Eternas take centre stage, the white dialled variants still present great value and affordability. This example is beautiful, housed in a 35mm stainless steel case with straight, angular downturned lugs, it features a white two-tone dial that has the most beautiful Art Deco style Arabic numerals. The design cues of the numerals really set this watch apart from other white-dialled chronographs and the larger size ensures that it still has presence on the wrist.
Powered by a Valjoux 22, it is a high-quality column wheel movement and it is a joy to use, with the chronograph pushers nice and soft, with just the right amount of tactility. This Eterna chronograph is a very elegant piece that works both as a dress watch or a casual piece with some jeans and a T-shirt.
